Following the passing of governance proposal 4745 by the Terra community to whitelist ampWHALE, bWHALE, and rSWTH as Alliance assets, LUNA staking rewards for ampWHALE and bWHALE will go live on 25 Aug 2023 at 12:27:41 hours (UTC).

Please follow the guide below to stake your bWHALE and ampWHALE on Terra to participate in the inaugural interchain staking event and earn additional LUNA yield.

Downloading Station

If you don’t yet have a Station wallet, follow this setup guide to download the Station Chrome or Firefox browser extensions and set up a wallet. Please ignore the ‘Mobile’ and ‘Desktop’ walkthroughs, as those are unnecessary for this walkthrough.

Staking guide

  1. Obtain a small amount of LUNA to pay for gas on Terra (~5 LUNA should be fine to start). Obtain LUNA through a centralized exchange or on-chain via TFM and withdraw it to your Terra wallet address on Station:

    1. Visit a crypto exchange that is available in your country: LUNA Markets
    2. Get some LUNA
    3. Withdraw it to your Terra wallet address on Station:
      1. Copy your Terra wallet address from the Station browser extension by clicking on ‘Receive’ and then the copy button for your Terra wallet
      2. Paste your Terra wallet address into the exchange withdrawal address and then withdraw your LUNA

  2. If you don’t yet have WHALE in your Station wallet, swap any token for WHALE on Migaloo using TFM

  3. Stake WHALE with your preferred liquid staking provider to earn Migaloo staking rewards and obtain bWHALE or ampWHALE:

    1. Eris (ampWHALE):
      1. Connect your Station wallet
      2. Click ‘Stake’
      3. Enter the amount of WHALE you’d like to stake
    2. Backbone Labs (bWHALE):
      1. Connect your Station wallet
      2. Enter the amount of WHALE you’d like to stake

  4. Send your ampWHALE or bWHALE from Migaloo to Terra by using tfm.com/ibc

  5. Navigate to station.terra.money

  6. Connect your wallet by clicking on ‘Connect’ in the top right-hand corner
